Marcio NovelliCongratulations to Marcio Novelli are due along with his new album release. And thanks to Mike Burgess for your kind inclusion of my role in It’s Not An Excuse, It’s a Reason in your article. We had a great time recording and mixing this album last year. Marcio came to me through my relationship with producer extraordinaire Julius Butty. “Juice” and I have been working together for many years and when Julius was unavailable to work with Marcio, he kindly suggested me. Thanks Juice! And, as you all know, it takes time to put all the pieces together: the artwork, the credits, choices of format, the uploads, the postings, the release date, the coordination of online and official release date, previews, et al. It can be daunting for the artist. Marcio is a force to be reckoned with and MJ and I wish him great success with this and all his future artistic endeavours.

The following article will appear in the Haldimand Sachem online now and in print tomorrow, March 6, 2013.

Binbrook pop/rock musician Marcio Novelli seems close to releasing his debut full length album It’s Not An Excuse, It’s A Reason perhaps as early as late May after the digital version has been very well received on iTunes since last October.

Coming off the success of his last EP Break Me, which won Best Pop/Rock Recording Of The Year at the 2009 Hamilton Music Awards, the hard-working and innovative Novelli is very hands on as always.

Primarily drawing on his own personal life experiences, Novelli cares very deeply about the final product.  He is involved in all aspects of this 10-song creation from arranging, composing, writing to all vocals, guitars, strings, percussion and keyboards.

Rounding off the expertise, which has gone into the album is the work of producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Jack’s Mannequin) and world renowned sound engineer/owner of Psychotropic Studios in Caledonia, Nick Blagona (Green Day, The Police, Deep Purple, The Bee Gees).

Not only is Novelli busy with his music, he has also created a full-length documentary on the making of the album. The film, entitled Walking Proof, will be included with the CD in DVD format.

“It took a year to complete the documentary, and though I have some experience in front of the camera as an actor, this was my first time really working behind the scenes,” said Novelli. “It has reignited my passion for film.”

Incredibly, he even finds time to host his own webcast, The Marcio Novelli Show, where he can be found conversing with his fans about many subjects.
